A poster and a poem hang on a wall in the office of Anthony Amore, the Directory of Security and Chief Investigator at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, Mass., USA, seen here on Tues., Dec. 5, 2017. The poster on top, reminiscent of Fox Mulder's "I Want to Believe" poster in the X-Files, features a reproduction of Manet's "Chez Tortoni" in place of the UFO. The poem is a piece written by John Updike about the Gardner Museum theft. Part of Amore's ongoing work is the investigation into the 1990 theft of 13 pieces from the museum: 10 paintings, 2 objects, and 1 etching. Among the paintings stolen were works by Rembrandt, Vermeer, Degas, and Manet. At left, in the large frame, is a reproduction of Vermeer's "The Concert." Both "The Concert" and "Chez Tortoni" were stolen in the heist.
