Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts dispose of old US flags by burning them in a flag retirement ceremony in Belmont, Massachusetts, USA, on Sat. Oct. 14, 2017. Flag retirement ceremonies are intended to give a dignified end to flags no longer fit to serve as a symbol for the United States of America. The ceremony was organized by Eagle Scout candidate Robert Mountain, 17, of Belmont Boy Scout Troop 66 as his Eagle Scout project.  The ceremony was held in park area surrounding Clay Pit Pond near Belmont High School.
