Part of Amore's ongoing work is the investigation into the 1990 theft of 13 pieces from the museum: 10 paintings, 2 objects, and 1 etching. Among the paintings stolen were works by Rembrandt, Vermeer, Degas, and Manet. At the time the billboards were shown, the reward for information about the stolen artwork was $5 million. In 2017, the reward was doubled to $10 million.
