Dani Rodrik (in gray) is a Turkish economist and Ford Foundation Professor of International Political Economy at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. His wife, Pinar Dogan, is a Lecturer in Public Policy at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Dogan is the daughter of Cetin Dogan, who was a high-ranking military official in Turkey, the Chief of General Staff and Commander of the First Army, and was accused and initially convicted of leading a coup in Turkey called Sledgehammer. Rodrik and Pinar Dogan examined the evidence, which they showed to be fraudulent, and after years of attempting to intervene, helped secure the retrial and eventual acquittal of Cetin Dogan and others convicted of taking part in the coup.
